Kirstie Alley, Cheers and Look Who’s Talking Star, dies at age 71

Hollywood veteran Kirsty Alley sadly passed away. The news was announced via a post on the official Instagram account for the actress who first rose to fame with her breakthrough role on the beloved sitcom cheers. The post includes an image of Alley riding a bicycle, along with a statement announcing that the actress has passed away after a private battle with cancer. She turned 71 years old.


“We are sorry to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered,” reads the post, which was signed by True and Lillie Parker. “She was surrounded by her immediate family and fought with great strength, making us sure of her unending joy in life and whatever adventures lie ahead. Iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother. .”

The message continues, “Our mother’s zest for life and passion for life, her children, grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy to create, were unparalleled and inspired us to live life to the fullest, just as she did. We thank you for your love and prayers and ask that you respect our privacy at this difficult time.”
