Back in 2007, whipped up, a rom-com starring some of the biggest names in the comedy genre, hits theaters. Written and directed by Judd Apatow, this production follows Alison, an up-and-coming journalist who has just been promoted at work and, to celebrate, goes out with her sister. At the nightclub they go to, she meets Ben, an immature and lazy man with a completely different life from hers, but who she ends up sleeping with after drinking way too much. Even though they cut off contact the next day, they have to reconnect a few weeks later because Alison finds out she is pregnant. After this news, they both try to navigate this strange journey together despite having very little in common.
whipped up starred Seth Rogen, Katherine Heigl, Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, and became a box office hit, grossing $219 million worldwide. Such was the success that Apatow went on to work on a sequel focusing on Rudd and Mann’s characters a few years later, called This is 40.
