Koffee With Karan 7 has been in the news quite a few times because of the interesting conversations that continue to brew on the show. The recent episode with Liger stars Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday was one such example that delivered some interesting firsts. Meanwhile, it seemed that Karan Johar was very eager to talk about Ananya and her way of dealing with competition. While initially questioning her about the debuts of her besties Shanaya Kapoor and Suhana Khan, he went on to ask her about her contemporaries.
Koffee With Karan 7: Ananya Panday was asked if she hates her contemporaries and here’s her answer
During the show, as the conversation shifted to co-stars and contemporaries, Karan Johar introduced his “Koffee Inquisition,” where curiously, as the title suggested, he asked the SOTY 2 actress about her opinion of contemporaries and also added whether she thinks that she is better than Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. She replied: “No, but there is healthy competition… I have my insecurities. You’re going to make me cry on the show. I get insecure about things because I really want to be the best.”
He went ahead and asked if she likes anyone in the industry, to which her response was, “No, right now I like everyone.” He expanded the question, adding, “Is there anyone you don’t like.” “I don’t know if they don’t like me, but I think people don’t like me… I can see people don’t like me. It won’t surprise me,’ she replied. If that wasn’t all, when the actress was asked to tell two lies and one truth during the Rapid Fire round, she said, “I kiss and tell, and I hate my contemporaries.”
When she told Karan to pick and choose, he initially replied, “I know you kiss and tell. And you can’t hate all your contemporaries.” But moments later he added: “No. You can hate all your contemporaries.” The conversation expanded when Vijay Deverakonda asked them what “kiss and tell” means.
Karan Johar responded, saying, “It means she kisses this man and tells her girl gang that she kissed him, which I guarantee you the truth! But I also think she hates her contemporaries and she lies about the fact that it’s a lie. That’s also the truth. She doesn’t have internet among her contemporaries.” When Ananya joked that she didn’t have to give this answer, Karan closed it off by adding, “You may not have to say it, but your face said it all.”
