Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha has been on a downward journey since its August 11 release. After a terrible run on its first 7 days, the film saw another drop in numbers on Thursday. According to early estimates Laal Singh Chaddha has collected in the range of €1.35 to 1.45 crores on its eight days to bring the opening week total to Rs. 50.98 crores. The film has closed its first week with collections around Rs. 50 crores, indicating a monumental disaster.

The Lifetime Collections of Laal Singh Chaddha will be under Rs. 55 crores meaning it will be one of the least profitable Aamir Khan movies. While Laal Singh Chaddha is a winner of the clash in absolute numbers, it is also the winner of the clash when it comes to booking bigger losses. The film will eventually earn about Rs. 10 million more than Raksha Bandhan at the box office, also clocking in at about 4 times higher losses than the Akshay Kumar movie.

The film has been completely rejected by the public in subways and also in the mass areas. It’s the worst word of mouth for an Aamir Khan movie in the last 22 years, probably worse than Mela. It’s one of the biggest disasters ever, despite a release during the lucrative holiday season. If not for holidays, laal Singh chaddha would have finished under Rs. 50 crore mark at the till.

The film will be out of most cinemas today and the rejection is to such an extent that even dobaara and Karthikeya 2 may have more shows than Laal Singh Chaddha in the coming weekend.
