John Oliver was at it again Last week tonight and do a round-up of some of the hottest topics affecting Americans across the country. The late-night host opened the show by punching Tom Brady after it was confirmed he was splitting from his wife.
“It’s been a busy week from massive protests in Iran to Tom Brady suddenly losing a ring,” joked Oliver.
Oliver was referring to the seven rings Brady has from his Super Bowl championships. The current quarterback for the Tampa Buccaneers has won a title with his current team and previously won six times with the New England Patriots. The comedian didn’t discuss Brady’s loss of Super Bowl rings, however, but his wedding ring after the couple announced their split after 13 years of marriage.

Oliver later took up the issue of bail bond reform and presented a clip of New York City Police Commissioner Dermot F. Shea blaming a crime wave that contradicted his earlier stance.
“Well what is it Dermot, aren’t the numbers dramatic or is it better to reform 100% which leads to more shootings because those things are mutually exclusive,” Oliver said.
Oliver continued, “The only place where drama and 100% can’t coexist is in Kristen Stewart’s overall mood. She gives everything, but she also gives us absolutely nothing. It’s totally amazing.”
