CNN’s Jake Tapper considers the network’s latest 2024 Presidential Election Survey “Terrible news” for President Joe Biden, as 66% of Americans polled said a Biden victory would be either a disaster or a blow to the country.
“When it comes to how voters view Joe Biden and another presidential run, I mean those are some bad numbers,” Tapper said.
The poll, released Thursday and conducted last week, found 41% of Americans believed it would be a “disaster” if Biden was re-elected next fall, while 26% said no. Said it would be a “blow”.

The poll also found that while Biden is still likely to win a vast majority of the Democratic vote in 2024, his overall approval rating stood at just 35%, with his popularity declining recently among Democrats and independents.
“Views of Biden are sharply more negative than those of each of the three living Democratic former presidents,” the poll reads.
“It’s a big warning sign,” CNN political director David Chelian told the topper of Biden’s dropoff among independents.
Current approval numbers according to polls are nearly identical to those of his potential rival, Donald Trump.

“It’s bad for Biden, but for both of them, the vast majority of the American people think his election will be a disaster or a setback for both Joe Biden and Donald Trump,” Tapper summarized.
“This is not an election the American people want,” Chalion replied.
“What a country,” concluded Tapper.
After a disastrous town hall featuring Trump earlier this month on CNN, Fox News has prepared another town hall with the former president moderated by show host Sean Hannity. Critics dubbed the previous town hall a “Trump infomercial” that gave him a platform to repeat lies about the 2020 election, among other lies.
