As the midterm elections lie before us, Trevor Noah is a little baffled that the Georgia Senate race Rev. Raphael is so close between Warnock and Herschel Walker. In fact, at this point in time, Noah would love to meet the person Herschel Walker claimed to be.
The host of “The Daily Show” hit the road Monday, starting a week-long stint of episodes from Atlanta, Georgia. As Noah explained, Georgia is the “epicentre” of the midterm elections this year. But he remains baffled by the fact that a reverend and a former football player are voted so closely together.
“What I really need to understand: what’s happening in Georgia that revered Is Raphael Warnock neck and neck with Herschel Walker?” Noah asked. “What’s up? Like, I know Walker’s whole neck, but what’s up? Every other word of the man turned out to be false.
Noah then proceeds to run through a laundry list of lies that Walker has told and uncovered, including the fact that he pretended he was an FBI agent, telling People that he never graduated. Despite graduating in the top 1% of his class at the University of Georgia. all, and took out an Honorary Police Badge during an argument, claiming it was a genuine badge and thus “proving” that he was a cop.
Noah also drew attention to allegations against Walker that he paid for an abortion for an ex-girlfriend—after encouraging her to do so herself—despite being anti-abortion.
“Like, at this point, I want to meet Herschel Walker who Herschel Walker thinks he is,” Noah joked. “Because at the moment, everything is the same – he treats real life the same way we treat dating apps. Like in your profile, like, ‘I’m one of the tallest people you’ve ever met I set up my own industry and my mother doesn’t live with me!'”
That said, Noah acknowledged that “to me the biggest thing Herschel Walker does is not the lies and the hypocrisy.” For the “Daily Show” host, Walker is also “weird.” To support his argument, he pulled up footage from an interview Walker gave to Dr. Ben Carson.
