Liger director Puri Jagannadh pens a letter after filing complaint against Liger distributors: ‘If at all I had betrayed someone, it was the audience’ : Bollywood News

liger marked the Hindi debut of Telugu actor, Vijay Deverakonda. Aided by Puri Jagannadh, the film starred Ananya Panday in the lead role with Ramya Krishnan in the central role. The film failed at the box office. A viral letter from Puri has surfaced online detailing the distributors, the film’s failure and more.

Liger director Puri Jagannadh writes letter after complaint against Liger distributors: ‘If I had betrayed anyone, it was the public’

In the letter, Puri wrote: “If it is a success, there will be money. If it is a failure, so much knowledge will come. So we always win mentally and financially… there is nothing in this world that we can lose. So we should not see everything as a failure. If something bad happens, the bad people around us will disappear. When we look back, we realize who is left behind. Isn’t it good?”

He added: “(People) will compliment you, accuse you, put you behind bars, rescue you, slap and scold you. So if these things don’t happen in your life, make sure they happen. Otherwise there is a danger that you will not become a hero. That is why we must live like heroes. If we want to live, we must be honest. There is no need to proclaim myself as an honest person. There is no need to keep the truth. The truth will protect the truth. The truth always defends itself.”

Puri further wrote: “No one will do anything if we work without betraying others. If I had betrayed anyone at all, it was the audience who bought the movie tickets with a belief in me. I have not cheated anyone. Actually, I am liable to my audience I will make movies and I will entertain them Talking about money Name at least one person who took at least one rupee when he died Then I will also save (money) In the end we all meet in the graveyard and everything what happens in between is all drama.”

Recently, an audio call was leaked from Puri Jagannadh where he told the distributors of liger to blackmail him. He filed a complaint alleging that the distributors were blackmailing him and trying to illegally take money from him other than blackmailing him. In the complaint, the director said that the distributors owe money to the sub-distributors. So now they are gathering the sub-distributors and calling for protest at Puri Jagannadh’s residence to recover the losses.

In the audio call circulating online, he said, “Are they creating me? I don’t owe anyone money, but I give it anyway. There was a loss and out of good will I decided to return. I have already spoken to buyers and informed that the agreed amount would be refunded in a month’s time.”

“Here (in the film industry) everyone takes a gamble. Some movies become hits and others flop. I have yet to get a lot of money from hits like Pokiri and Ishmart Shankar. Will the buyers’ association help me with this? If you want to protest, do it. I will take the list of people who protested and give money to those who did not protest,” Puri added.

liger released on August 26, 2022 in theaters. At work, despite Liger’s failure, Puri Jagannadh and Vijay Deverakonda are working on Jana Gana Mana. The film is slated for release next year.
