Almost a week ago, Koffee With Karan 7 hosted two leading ladies of Bollywood – Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan. Karan Johar seems to have been discussing the Gen Z generation and their shenanigans during the chatty couch time, but it seems the episode has rubbed a lot of netizens the wrong way. Many of them accused the filmmaker of siding with Janhvi throughout the show since she made her debut under his banner, sidelining Sara. However, during the recently held trailer launch of his next production ligerhe went on to clarify the show’s episode.

Readers would know that last week’s episode of Koffee With Karan 7 was the second episode of the season and it was quite an interesting episode with both girls Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan being candid with Karan Johar about brewing hot coffee and gossip. They may also be aware that Sara ended up winning both the game rounds of the show, including the Rapid Fire round (by audience poll) and the Quiz round against Janhvi. Referring to this, Karan Johar spoke during the launch of the trailer for ligerthe film marking the debut of Southern star Vijay Deverakonda to star alongside Ananya Panday.
During the launch of the trailer, Karan Johar clarified what went wrong in that episode, saying, “I just felt bad that Janhvi lost both rounds – she lost the Rapid Fire and Game Round. I was just being nice, but in that process I think I think everyone misread it I love them both dearly I think they’re both great artists and girls I’ve known them both for years, since they were a little bit three years old! There’s no bias, not with them, never ever!”
Speak about liger, the film will also feature Ramya Krishnan, Mike Tyson and Ronit Roy in pivotal roles. The release is scheduled for August 25 and will be directed by Puri Jagannath. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada.
