Lisa Marie Presley’s last interview alarmed “Extra” moderator Billy Bush: “Something’s not working” – deadline

“” Host Billy Bush did the final Golden Globes red carpet interview with Lisa Marie Presley and immediately knew something was wrong.

Elvis Presley’s only daughter died Thursday at the age of 54, just two days after walking the red carpet at the Golden Globes. She attended in support elvis her father’s Baz Luhrmann biopic.

Bush recalled his brief red carpet conversation with an ashen and insecure Lisa Marie.

“She was very uneven in her balance” Bush, 51, opposite Fox LA. “The speech was very slow. And definitely, when the interview was over, I turned to my producer next to me and said, ‘Something’s wrong here.'”

“She was aware. She was certainly there, just a second slow. But she was there. She was definitely there, but kind of a little off,” Bush added.

For Bush’s interviews, the stars had to walk two steps to the platform he was standing on. Presley struggled with that, Bush said.

“It was clear she wouldn’t be able to get up the two flights. I went down and met her on the carpet myself,” he said.

Video of Presley at the event shows her walking uncertainly at the Globes. She was escorted by manager Jerry Schilling, and early in the interview with Bush, she told Schilling, “I’ll grab your arm,” ostensibly for support. (Watch a full video of the interview above)

An official cause of Lisa Marie Presley’s death has not been determined.
