The new Showtime series will be a little different, as evidenced by the recap on Showtime:

“The lives of Mark and his daughter Eleanor were changed forever ten years earlier when she was turned into a vampire. Eleanor, who was seemingly frozen in time at age 12, led a closed life, able to go out alone at night, while her father tries his best to give her the human blood she needs to survive. to stay alive. Now they have returned to New York City, desperate for a cure. Inspired by the acclaimed Swedish novel and film, their emotionally charged and haunting story puts a naturalistic lens on human vulnerability, strength and compassion.”

We’re excited to see where this new tweak takes us!

Interviewing the Vampire

The vampire craze has been around for much longer than… Twilight – in fact, one of the most popular Vampire franchises was spawned by the novel Interview with the vampire by Anne Rice, published in 1976. Fans of the original book and 1994 film of the same title were some of the first to be part of a “fandom” as we know it today, creating fanworks based on the Interview with the vampire franchisee. Notoriously, Anne Rice was vehemently against derivative fanworks, and her lawsuits against fans of her book led to many of the precautions taken today to protect fanworks creators.

In this new era it seems appropriate that Interview with the vampire is getting a reboot – in the form of a series from AMC! This new adaptation will take place in modern times with a similar premise to the original; a vampire who shares his story with a human journalist. Starting in 20th century New Orleans and starring as many handsome vampires as the original, we’re sure this reboot has something for everyone!

Here’s the summary:

“The first season will closely follow the first novel, interview with the vampire. It will focus on Louis de Pointe du Lac, a vampire who tells the story of his 200-year life to an avid journalist named Daniel Malloy, who is looking for a second chance to turn his life around.”

With such a premise, we are excited to see what Interview with the vampire has in store!

Will Salem’s Lot return?

In recent months there has been a lot of speculation about the status of Warner Bros.’ Fate of Salem redo. The film was supposed to be released in April 2023, but after a rescheduling at WB, the film no longer has a release date. The Fate of Salem remake is in post-production, so we’re sure it will be re-released soon – and we can’t wait for it to be! The summary already sounds exciting:

Ben Mears, a writer who spent part of his childhood in Lot in Jerusalem, Maine, otherwise known as ‘Salem’s Lot, has returned after twenty-five years to write a book about the long-abandoned Marsten House, where he had bad experience as a kid. He soon discovers that an ancient evil has also come to town, turning its inhabitants into vampires. He vows to stop the plague of the undead and save the city.”

Like many of Stephen King’s works, Fate of Salem is an unparalleled horror classic. Many of King’s films have been remade or remade in recent years, starting in 2013 career until 2019 Pet Sematary. This remake seems to be no different, with a new cast and promises from director Gary Dauberman to “make vampires terrifying again.” We hope it delivers on its promise and the release date is moved soon, because Fate of Salem sounds amazing!

With so many exciting movies and series on the horizon, we’re sure the vampire craze is making a comeback. We just hope this resurrection will last!
