Black Panther: Wakanda and 12 years slave star Lupita Nyong’o joins another cinematic universe, the A quiet place universe. Per Varietythe Academy Award-winning actor is in final negotiations to star A quiet place: day onethe next installment in the Paramount horror franchise.
The third movie in the A quiet place franchise will play Nyong’o in an undisclosed role, with the details of the story currently being kept a secret. The original idea for the third installment comes from John Krasinksi, who co-directed and starred in the first two films with his wife Emily Blunt. However, the short-lived star and director of Reed Richards will not return for Day oneof Pig director Michael Sarnoski is heading the new film, which will be released on March 8, 2024.
The first two films were set on a post-apocalyptic Earth taken over by blind monsters who use a form of echolocation to hunt human prey. In 2018 A quiet placeKrasinski and Blunt play Lee and Evelyn Abbott, the parents of two young children named Marcus and Regan, played by Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds, who struggle to raise their children in a world overrun by monsters. After Kraskiniski’s character died trying to save Regan in the first film, the actor-director returned for a cameo role in the franchise’s second installment in 2020, A quiet place II, which began with a prologue before the monsters first attacked. According to AV clubwhile a cameo “cannot be ruled out,” Blunt and Krasinki are unlikely to reprise their roles in the spin-off.
Day one is not intended to continue the story of Evelyn and her other family members. Rumor has it that it’s a brand new story set in the same universe.
Lupita Nyong’o returns as Nakia in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
LupitaNyong’o will be seen next Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverthe long-awaited sequel to 2018 Black Panther. The actor will reprise her role as Nakia, the Wakandian spy and former lover of T’Challa. She was originally set to star in Lady in the Lake but left the project in May, as well as in The woman king but left that project in October.
Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will produce A quiet place: day one via Platinum Dunes alongside Krasinski and its Sunday Night banner with partner, Allyson Seeger, serving as executive producer.
