Aamir Khan and Kiara Advani were featured in a commercial promoting banking services. Playing the role of newlyweds, they tried to break traditions and stereotypes when a groom plans to live with the bride’s parents. After internet users objected to the commercial, Madhya Pradesh Minister Narottam Mishra gave his opinion on the ad and advised that Aamir and the creators should consider everyone’s feelings before doing such a commercial.

MP Minister Narottam Mishra recently came across Aamir Khan’s commercial, Kiara Advani, and expressed his opinion by saying: “I saw actor Aamir Khan’s advertisement for a private bank after I received a complaint. I request him to stop such advertisements.” places by the Indian traditions and customs in mind. I don’t think it is appropriate. Such things about Indian traditions, customs and gods keep coming, especially about Aamir Khan. The feelings of a particular religion are hurt by such acts. I believe it is him it is not allowed to hurt anyone’s feelings,” Minister Mishra announced.

In the commercial in question, Aamir Khan and Kiara Advani were seen driving from the wedding venue back to their home. In the ad, Kiara and Aamir discuss how not to cry during the Bidaai and it is eventually revealed that unlike the usual custom of a bride going to the groom’s house, the tradition in the commercial is reversed. Here Aamir ‘ghar jamai’ is seen helping Kiara’s father who is sick. Some internet users took offense at this commercial, adding that it hurt Hindu customs and sentiments. The ad was created for AU Bank with the slogan ‘Badlaav humse hai’ (change should come from us).
