Man of Steel 2 is reportedly in development at Warner Bros. Discovery

DC fans can rejoice as a Man of Steel sequel is reportedly in development, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It’s been five long years since Henry Cavill played Superman, dating back to 2017 with Justice League. Fans weren’t sure if the actor would return to the role after the leadership change with David Zaslav, the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, but it seems the company wants more of Cavill’s rendition.


The 39-year-old actor began playing Krypton’s last son in 2013 with Man of Steel before he got his part in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. According to the THR report, Warner Bros. Pictures heads Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy to see more of the character. Their “intense desire” to see Cavill again led to a project that “essentially would be” Man of Steel 2Produced by Charles Roven. According to THR, the team is currently looking for writers to write the script, with Christopher McQuarrie at the top of the list.

McQuarrie regularly collaborates with Tom Cruise, writing and directing the Mission Impossible movies that start with Rogue Nation in 2015. In addition, he has worked on Edge of tomorrow, the mummyand Jack Reacher. Unfortunately, Warner Bros. Discovery team unsure if they can land McQuarrie as he is currently on the next two Mission Impossible terms. This would be a reunion between the screenwriter and Cavill as the actor appeared opposite Cruise in Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Fans will probably be happy with whoever writes Man of Steel 2while audiences have been waiting for a direct solo sequel for nearly a decade.

although Black Adam yet to be released, news about the post-credits scene has been revealed. The recent THR report delves into what went on behind the scenes to bring the cameo to life and how Dwayne Johnson was in charge. In recent weeks, the actor has spoken out about his desire to bring Superman back to the big screen, preferably in a battle between his character, Black Adam, and the Man of Steel. Johnson essentially revealed the “surprise” cameo, with THR insiders suggesting it’s a way to bring the character back and boost sales at the box office.

According to the report, Cavill was not in the original plans for: Black Adam but was added in a round of reshoots. Despite the scene being cut at one point, Johnson spoke to De Luca and Abdy, and eventually the cameo returned to the final cut. The scene was shot in mid-September after intense negotiations. Walter Hamada, head of DC Films, initially wanted to break with the Zack Snyder era of the DCEU and reportedly pitched a Black Superman, which would be a story several decades before Johnson won execs with Cavill’s return.

Fans will see DC power balance and expansion when: Black Adam arrives in theaters October 21. Of course, the audience will eagerly await the final Man of Steel 2 news as long as development continues.
