Melanie Lynskey shares touching farewell post to Julian Sands after confirmation of his death

Melanie Linsky shared a touching farewell post for actor Julian Sands, whose remains were found in the San Gabriel Mountains earlier this week after a months-long search. The ‘Yellowjackets’ star had been friends with Sands since 2000, when they worked together on the set of ‘Red Rose’.

Lynskey said she had been a fan of Sands’ film “A Room with a View” and recalled being nervous about working with the actor, but noted his positive qualities.

“I can barely talk to you,” she wrote in her Instagram post on Wednesday. “When I finally told you what this film/you meant to me, I was taken aback by your humility, your lack of arrogance, the absence of any grandiosity. ,

Lynskey recalled growing close to Sands over the following years and being surprised by his generosity.

He continued, “You bought me so many presents, mostly big and intimidating non-fiction books and CDs of classical music.” “You found out I never went to the opera, and so you came over to my apartment one night and picked me up, took me out for champagne, and took me to the opera. You giggled when I yawned.”

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Confirmed Sands died on Tuesday after going missing on January 13. Sands was 65.

“You were kind and patient and a lot of fun,” Linsky said of his friend. Check out her full Instagram post below:
