Seth Meyers returned after a few weeks on Monday night, and he wasted no time mocking former President Donald Trump’s impeachment twice for his latest antics. According to the “Late Night” host, some of the social media accounts Trump has left have become “scavenger hunts for crazy people”—as well as “deadly dip-ts.”
Meyers’ thoughts came when he was discussing the upcoming election during his “A Closer Look” segment. Specifically, the hosts were referring to reports of voter intimidation taking place on ballots. In recent weeks, men wearing camouflage costumes and armed with tactical gear have been taking out ballot boxes in Maricopa County, Arizona, in an effort to prevent voter fraud.
But before he could get into real danger, Meyers couldn’t help but laugh at his choice of outfit.
“First of all, why f—are you wearing camouflage in the parking lot?” he ridiculed. “Why do they sell camouflage in Phoenix? The only thing you can mix with wearing camouflage in Phoenix is all the other idiots wearing camouflage in Phoenix.”
More seriously, Meyers marveled at the fact that appearing in lawn chairs and trucks while wearing camoes and staring at voters is working (though admittedly some have handheld weapons as well).
“It continues to shock me that these guys remain both an incredibly dangerous threat and complete dips-ts,” Meyers said. “At the same time, we are living in an era of deadly decline. On the one hand, they’re fulfilling their mission to scare voters away from drop boxes, but on the other, they’re sitting on lawn chairs wearing camouflage, like a friend trying to catch a gopher in their backyard. ,
Of course, Meyers wanted “no illusions” about what inspired and encouraged these people: Trump. The late-night host then pulled the post from the former president’s Truth Social account, in which he encouraged his followers to continue showing up at the ballot boxes, even giving the actual addresses of where they are located. For.
“Do you know how obsessed your mind is to know the address of the ballot drop box?” Meyers joked. “I don’t even know the exact address of my 6 year old school.”
Meyers joked that Trump’s social media presence is, in fact, a series of clues to his extremist followers.
