More than 10 years ago, “American Horror Story” producer Ryan Murphy called the pilot for the hugely popular FX show a “bucket list” actress he wanted to work with, in keeping with Mia Farrow. Now, the “Rosemary’s Baby” star revealed He really regretted turning her down.
In a chat about Netflix’s “The Watcher,” the cast met with the Emmy-winning producer to discuss the series and the enduring allure of the true crime genre. Before Murphy could complete her sentence about her first attempt to work with Farrow, the veteran actress — who was not working at the time — said, “I’m sorry for that part.”
She continued, “I’m really sorry I didn’t, and I regret it. I jumped on the spot when you said [to] … ronano [Farrow], ‘Brought this thing for your mom, she can totally wear black and that would be really interesting.’ And I’m like, ‘Sure.'”
On the other hand, co-star Jennifer Coolidge was trying to get a role on “AHS” for about the same amount of time (the two had previously worked together on their 2003 drama “Nip/Tuck”). Emmy-winning “White Lotus” star mentioned As recently as 2011, Murphy and her crew rented out their New Orleans home to shoot “AHS” on IMDb and was trying to get around to production hoping to nab a part. This was news to Murphy, who did not know that the actress was interested in darker thriller genres, although she later told him that she was hungry to portray “evil” characters. Coolidge said, “Jessica Lang was upstairs in my bedroom, and I was like, ‘This is the day that’s gonna happen!’ I think [‘The Watcher’] It was a very late response to my wish, but I’m so glad it happened. ,
“The Watcher” debuted on Netflix on October 13, quickly reaching #1 on the Top 10 English TV list with 125 million hours of views.
