Michelle Yeoh and Pete Davidson are in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts in voice roles for Paramount’s upcoming franchise entry.
Michelle Yeoh and Pete Davidson star in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Yeoh will lend her voice to the Airazor character and Davidson will play Mirage. The seventh installment in the Paramount Pictures franchise is based on Hasbro’s Transformers action figures and inspired by the popular Beast Wars property from the 90s.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is directed by Steven Caple Jr. and stars Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Luna Lauren Valez, Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime and Ron Perlman as Optimus Primal. Entertainment One, Hasbro’s entertainment studio, is executive producer, while Skydance co-finances and executive produces.
New Republic Pictures is also a co-financier and executive producer. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian and Duncan Henderson. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is the first film in the franchise since 2018 Bumblebee.
Rise of the Beasts is set in the 90s between the events of Bumblebee and the feature film series started in 2007 by Michael Bay. The sequel is set for June 9, 2023 and will be released after being delayed for a year due to a production delay in the pandemic era.
On the work front, Yeoh just got off the indie hit Everything Everywhere All at once. She will be featured in the Avatar sequels and has also joined the cast of A Ghost Tour in Venice. Meanwhile Davidson has left Saturday Night Live this year but appeared in Bodies Bodies Bodies and the romcom Meet cute.
