Taylor Swift recently released her visual album midnight. The edited music video for ‘anti-hero’ is the third song on her new album, midnight on Apple Music, removing a recording that showed the “fat” shell that some viewers considered fat-phobic.

According to an Entertainment Weekly report, the controversial scene features Swift, who wrote and directed the video, standing on a scale and staring back at her thickly. Her party-loving alter ego, who looks close, then shakes her head in disapproval. The updated clip doesn’t include the word and instead shows Swift stepping on the scales as her alter ego shakes her head.
While the scene was criticized on social media over the scene, with some viewers finding it fat-phobic, the cast of The view defended Swift and the scene, with Sunny Hostin insisting fans angry about it “missed the point”. In addition, Swift had also described: “Anti Hero,” as one of her most personal songs to date.
“I don’t think I’ve delved that far into my insecurities in this detail before,” she said on Instagram. “I struggle a lot with the idea that my life has become unmanageable and, in order not to sound too dark, I struggle with the idea of not feeling like a person. We all hate things about ourselves, and it’s all those aspects of the things we don’t like and like about ourselves and that we have to come to terms with if we want to be this person.”
“For someone who is an artist, she’s given freedom of choice about her artistry. She described a personal experience, and frankly, it’s a personal experience that a lot of women experience,” Hostin said at the time. “I’ve been through it, and men. You get on the scale and you’re a perfectly normal weight and all you see is fat, all you see is, ‘Oh my god, I’m five pounds heavier than I should be .'”
