Mila Kunis Talks ‘Trippy’ Experience With Ashton Kutcher On That ’90s Show Set

More than 15 years after closing That show from the 70s, Mila Kunis returned to the set to film a guest appearance for That show from the 90s. Original cast members Ashton Kutcher, Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Wilmer Valderrama, Kurtwood Smith, Debra Jo Rupp and Tommy Chung will also appear in the expected sequel. In July, Kutcher, who has been married to Kunis since 2015, told: EW that filming for the new series was “super nostalgic” and “very strange”. Now Kunis has shared what it was like for her to return to the set where she and Kutcher met Access:


“It was weird shooting together, I can tell you that. It made me super nervous. Oh my gosh, I was more nervous about doing that than anything else in my career – was shooting with my husband on set from the 1970s show. “Because the set is exactly the same. Getting married, but being in the place where we met – and it looks the same – was trippy. We were walking on set and I was like, ‘ Oh… this is weird.’ It was really weird.”

Kunis and Kutcher will both appear as guests during the revival, reprising their roles of Jackie Burkhart and Michael Kelso. Though their characters were romantically linked through the series’ fourth season, the two didn’t fall in love off-camera until 2012. That show from the 90s marks the first time the two film together as a married couple. Kunis said:

“I would look at my husband while we were doing a scene or rehearsing and say, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s what you look like when you’re acting.'”

That 90s Show: A Tribute To Its Predecessor

That show from the 70s aired eight seasons on Fox from 1998-2006. That show from the 90s two decades later, in 1995, when Donna and Eric’s teenage daughter Leia (Callie Haverda), her grandparents Kitty and Red visit for the summer. The two still live in the same house in the fictional town of Point Place, Wisconsin. Newcomers to the series include Haverda, Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi and Sam Morelos.

Kunis believes that fans of That show from the 70s will rejoice at the revival:

“It’s very cute. It’s very sweet. It’s a tribute to – everyone who’s ever watched ’70s or loved That show from the 70sthey will be very happy with it. I really believe it.”

Kunis plays Ani FaNelli, an affluent New Yorker with “a sought-after job, a great wardrobe and a dream wedding in Nantucket on the horizon,” whose life takes a turn when a secret from her past is revealed. Happiest girl in the world will be released in select theaters on September 30 before being available on Netflix on October 7.
