Actor Pearl V Puri, who is known for being part of Ekta Kapoor’s supernatural show Naagin 3, is all set to make his big Bollywood debut with the sequel to Divya Khosla Kumar’s director Yaariyan. He will share the space with Malayalam actress Priya Prakash Varrier and Meezaan Jafri. In Yaariyan 2, Divya will also play an important role.
A move post of Yaariyan 2 was shared earlier today by the official T-Series Instagram handle, along with a tagline that reads: “Cousins of blood, friends of your choice! A family glued by the bond of true friendship brings you back, # Yaariyan2.” However, the details of the film’s storyline and characters are still a secret.
The additional cast of Yaariyan 2 also includes Anaswara Rajan, Warina Hussain and Bengali television actor Yash Dasgupta, who will also make his debut in the Hindi film industry. While the first part was directed by Divya Khosla Kumar, Yaariyan 2 is directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. The release is expected on May 12, 2023.
For the uninitiated, Pearl V Puri had made headlines when he was arrested by Mumbai police in connection with an alleged sexual assault and rape of a child. He was booked under IPC Sec. 376 AB and POCSO Act, 4, 8, 12,19, 21. The victim’s family claimed that the actor allegedly abused and raped the girl about two years ago.
However, many TV fraternities such as Ekta Kapoor, Karishma Tanna and others stood by Pearl, claiming that the actor was the victim of a conspiracy. The actor had also denied all allegations against him. He was later released on bail on a cash bond of Rs 25,000. In his Instagram post, he described the incident as a nightmare. He also took a moment to thank his fans for their continued support and concern.
Pearl started his career as a television actor with the 2013 show Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat while Naagin 3 and Bepanah Pyaar of Ekta Kapoor made him popular. He was last seen in the television series Brahmarakshas 2.
