Have fun flipping! The cast of the 2004 cult classic Napoleon Dynamite is reunited for a new animated pilot. According to a report by Deadline, the series will be released via blockchain technology. The show, titled Cyko KO, features the film’s four main cast members, including Jon Heder, Tina Majorino, Efren Ramirez, and Jon Gries. The series is based on Rob Feldman’s comic book of the same name, with Heder in the title role. The Deadline report describes the character as a “fourth wall-breaking, pinball-addicted, cereal-eating, motorcycling hero.”
The rollout of the series is unconventional due to its blockchain technology, with a 12-minute pilot launching exclusively with Replay’s Rewarded.TV web3 streaming service. The system is described as an ecosystem to earn, and NFTs will also unlock the show and other projects. Viewers will be rewarded. TV’s native RPLAY tokens by watching various movies, shows and live TV shows.
See Cyko KO gives users additional rewards, including the chance to meet the show’s cast or cameo in the pilot. The roles for the rest of the members are unknown at this time, but Deadline reports that the series will follow Cyko KO, his sidekick Peachy Keen and their pet Meemop. They are tasked with protecting SuperEarth’s colonies from gigantic monsters and wacky characters in what has been described as a “Saturday morning cartoon-inspired title for all ages.”
Rob Feldman, showrunner and author of Cyko Ko, released a statement with the casting announcement sharing his enthusiasm for the technology associated with the project. “The dream has always been to bring Cyko KO into the world of animation, and to do so through state-of-the-art technology,” said Feldman. “Between this incredible cast reunion and our partners at Theta, Replay and Verified labs, we’re going to create something incredibly special for the fans who have supported Cyko and his friends for the past seven years.”

It’s been almost two decades Napoleon Dynamite ended up in theaters, and the comedy is as hysterical today as it was in 2004. The film follows a listless, estranged teenager who decides to help his new friend win the class presidency in their small Western high school. Fans who have seen the film understand that it is not the plot that has catapulted the film to success, but the chemistry of the cast and depiction of everyday life not often seen in films.
Napoleon Dynamite was written and directed by Jared Hess and became one of his most successful films to date Nacho Libre. The film has an estimated budget of $400,000, grossing $116,000 on its opening weekend. However, Napoleon Dynamite eventually became a huge success, as cult classics often do, generating $46 million, more than 100 times the budget. Fans hope for a similar dynamic and Feldman hopes for the same success when the Cyko KO Star Cards NFTs will be released on September 30th.
