While fans have been eagerly waiting to see what Nayanthara and Prithviraj Sukumaran will see on screen, it looks like their wait has just been extended. The movie titled Gold due out next week during Onam has now been postponed. The film’s director, Alphonse Puthren, took to social media to confirm the news and also apologized to fans, claiming they would make it right.

Director Alphonso Puthren announced in his social media post that the film will be released a week after Onam. On Twitter, he posted: “Due to delay in work on our side, “Gold” will be released a week after Onam. Please forgive us for the delay caused. Hoping to make up for this delay by our work when “Gold ” is being released.”

The recently released teaser of Gold starring Prithviraj Sukumaran as Joshi.S., Justin John as JJ, MA Shiyas as Baby Kunju, Faisal Muhammed as Faiz. In the teaser, Prithviraj walks in slow motion as the three watch and when he gets close to them, he raises his leg to kick Faiz. The scene then takes you to a relaxed Lady Superstar Nayanthara playing the part of Sumangali Unnikrishnan. She is seen enjoying a bowl of popcorn while chilling on a couch. The two-minute teaser, which was released about five months ago, didn’t reveal much as the film’s story is kept secret.
Talking more about the team of Gold, is expected to feature an ensemble cast that includes Ajmal Amir, Lalu Alex, Mallika Sukumaran, Shammi Thilakan and Baburaj. The teaser also reveals that there will be many special cameos from well-known actors, but refrains from giving details. Produced under Prithviraj Productions & Magic Frames, the film is expected to be released simultaneously in Malayalam and Tamil.
