The Witcher‘s iconic Geralt of Rivia is getting ready to return to Netflix. Henry Cavill confirmed that production has completed the shoot for Season 3.

According to witcher fansite Redanian Intelligence, series star Henry Cavill wrote a note that read, “What a season this has been!” he said. “I just wanted to thank you all for your determination and dedication through a tough shoot. Hopefully you can all get some well-deserved rest. Sincerely and with respect, Henry Cavill.”
Season 3’s official synopsis reads: “As princes, mages and beasts of the continent battle to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly reunited family from those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical During training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to learn more about the girl’s untapped powers, but instead they discover that they have landed on a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic and betrayal. all on the line – or risk losing each other forever.”
Netflix has seemingly green-lit seasons 4 and 5 of the series, which will reportedly be shot back-to-back. While it’s unclear when production will begin, the seasons are currently in the writing phase.
Season 2 of the popular fantasy series ended with the formation of a new family between Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri. As Collider points out, now that Ciri is public enemy number one and her father is one of the series’ new big baddies, it’ll be interesting to see how the show develops the group’s dynamics. The new description sounds like a non-stop thrilling chase, it seems like we’re getting a little heavier in the politics of the mages and wizards.
