Netflix’s Inclusion Strategy Head Verna Myers Resigns, Wade Davis Appointed As Replacement

Netflix’s inclusion strategy chief Verna Myers will step down in September. Myers first joined the company in 2018 and was the first to take on the role, which she held for five years. She remained an advisor to Netflix as she focused on her consulting company, The Verna Myers Company.

After he leaves, Wade Davis will be promoted to his position. Davis is currently the Vice President of Inclusion Strategy and has worked with Myers for four years.

As Netflix’s first head of inclusion, Myers was responsible for releasing the streamer’s first inclusion report in 2021. He also created a course for the company on Leading Inclusively, which, in the past year, has been taken by over 600 Netflix leaders globally. Additionally, under his leadership, the expansion of the inclusion team has become more globally focused. It now includes groups of professionals from all fields and serves with the goal of developing strategies to incorporate inclusive and culturally relevant practices in hiring, compensation, onboarding, feedback, growth and development.

Diversity Was the first to report.
