New shrinking footage reveals first look at Harrison Ford in the Apple TV+ series

A handful of new images from the upcoming Apple TV+ comedy series, Shrinkoffer our first look at Harrison Ford and Jason Segel as a pair of therapists with an unorthodox and unethical approach to therapy. Released alongside the first trailer for the show, Shrink comes from the mind of How I met your mother star Jason Segel and by Ted Lasso Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein and will hit the streaming service in January.

Shrink follows a grieving therapist named Jimmy, played by Jason Segel, who begins to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he’s thinking. Ignoring his training and crossing ethical barriers, he discovers that his new approach is leading to huge changes in the lives of his patients…and his own.

These new images offer our best look yet at the core cast of Shrink, with Harrison Ford exuding a stoic (if a little judgmental) figure as the bespectacled Dr. Phil Rhodes. Dr. A friend and colleague of Segel’s Jimmy, Rhodes is a pioneer in cognitive behavioral therapy who is going through his own personal turmoil after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

In one of the images, Ford and Segel’s characters are in the middle of a debate, something that will no doubt come up several times in the series as they discuss the implications of Jimmy’s new approach. Besides Segel and Ford, Shrink stars Christa Miller (Scrubs, Cougar City), Jessica Williams (Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets, girls), Michael Urie (The good fight), Tilky Jones (Pretty Little Liars, Nashville), as well as Luke Tennie and Lukita Maxwell.

An all-new comedy series from Apple Original, Shrink was written by Emmy Award-winning Ted Lasso co-creator Bill Lawrence alongside Emmy Award winner Ted Lasso star, writer and co-executive producer Brett Goldstein and Jason Segel. Lasting 10 episodes, Shrink is scheduled to premiere with the first two episodes on Friday, January 27, 2023 on Apple TV+, followed by a new episode every Friday.

Harrison Ford is not only starring on the small screen for the first time, but will soon be returning to the big screen to play one of his most iconic characters for the last time. Indiana Jones5 will find Ford’s beloved adventurer battling the Nazis again. This time, however, against the background of the space race of the 1960s.

It’s not just that they’re looking for something where there’s nothing up there – it’s like Reno without gambling, or whatever his line is. But the people behind it are, you know, his sworn enemies.’

Directed by James Mangold from a script co-written by Mangold, Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth, Indiana Jones5 stars Harrison Ford, John Rhys-Davies, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones and Antonio Banderas and is scheduled for release on June 30, 2023.
