“HLN Investigates” will trace the collapse of a picture-perfect relationship that led to the murder in “Toxic Love: The Gabby Petito Tragedy.”
2 hour Specific, which airs November 5 on HLN, promises to take viewers inside the mystery that enthralled the nation when 22-year-old Gabby Pettito after a cross-country road trip with her fiancé, Brian Laundry Vanished, who had returned to her Florida home town without her partner. The Internet was seen as allegations of laundry rose and Petito’s remains were thousands of miles away in Wyoming.
As HLN producers comb miles of the national forest, “Toxic Love” dives deep into the case to find answers about the days leading up to Petito’s death, from Pettito’s disappearance to the infamous Florida manhunt.
The special also includes an exclusive interview with Joseph Petito, who confirmed that “something bad happened,” when two men went into the woods and only one returned.
“What started out as a cross country romantic getaway ended in murder,” said executive producer Elizabeth Yuskaitis. “As more evidence emerged, audiences across the country had more questions about the tragic circumstances surrounding Gabby Petito’s death. Led by showrunner Elizabeth Yuskaitis, the “HLN Probe” is part of the HLN Probe. Prior to “Toxic Love: The Gabby Petito Tragedy,” Branch also produced true crime documentaries such as “Sex and Murder,” “Real Life Nightmare and Lies” and “Crimes and Videos.”
