New Titans Villains Shown In Season 4 Clips

A New Clip of Franka Potente as Mother Mayhem in DC’s Season 4 Titans has released, courtesy of New York Comic Con. We’ve known for a while that the new super villains would be coming to the show, and earlier this month we also got our first look at what Mother Mayhem would look like in costume. Now we get to see the character in action.

The official season summary is as follows:

“In the upcoming fourth season, which debuts on HBO Max in November, after saving Gotham, the Titans headed back to San Francisco. But after a stop in Metropolis, they find themselves in the crosshairs of a supernatural cult with powers they’ve never experienced before.”

The clip opens with Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing (Brenton Thwaites), telling the other Titans to “fit”. They include Rachel Roth, aka Raven (Teagan Croft), Conner, aka Superboy (Joshua Orpin), Beast Boy (Ryan Potter), Tim Drake (Jay Lycurgo), and Starfire (Anna Diop). They face the new villain one-on-one this season and they are all eventually thrashed. Ending with an explosive conclusion thanks to the encounter between Starfire and Mother Mayhem about energy surges.

The other villains that appear in Titans

Originally created by Marv Wolfman and John Byrns, Anna Resik, aka Mother Mayhem, first made her DC Comics debut in New Annual Teen Titans Full. 2 #2 in 1986. She is a high-ranking member of the Church of Blood, a cult led by Brother Blood, who we know will also play Joseph Morgan in the new season. As with Mother Mayhem, we also got to see Brother Blood in a promotional video and photos.

The official teaser in front of Titans Season 4 released by HBO Max features a hand emerging from a pool of blood, accompanied by ominous chants. The words are very similar to ‘Azarath Metrion Zinthos’, an expression Raven used in the Teen Titans animated series to master her powers. So it looks like this version of Brother Blood will maintain a bond with Raven and/or her father, Trigon (Seamus Dever), a character who hasn’t been seen on Titans since the season 2 premiere.

As if that wasn’t enough, we also have a clip of Lex Luthor (Titus Welliver), who will also be appearing during the season. Season 4 will feature several new villains, with Luthor appearing “near the start” of the new season. The clip also makes it look like he’ll be the one to set the plot in motion, as it shows the Titans deciding to stop in Metropolis because the Superman nemesis contacted Connor while they were on their way.

Titans Season 4 premieres November 3 on HBO Max. Right now, you can watch the show’s first three seasons on the streaming service. Stay tuned for future updates on the superhero show.
