The list of films includes almost every top contender that has been awarded or nominated by other groups, including “All That Breathes,” “All the Beauty and the Bloodshed,” “Fire of Love,” “Navalny,” and “Good Night.” . oppy. Some late-breaking films, such as Werner Herzog’s “Theater of Thought,” the Cinema Eye Honors nominee “A Night of Knowing Nothing,” and the IDA Documentary Award nominees “No Simple Way Home” and “The Pawnshop,” are not in the list. ready.

The films were available to Academy members at seven different times, from August 18 through early November. Fifteen features were placed in the screening room in August, followed by batches of 13, 6, 29, 29, and 20 films in September and October, and then the final group of 32.

At the same time, 98 short documentaries were made available.

Members of the Documentary Branch will receive assigned film lists to ensure that each qualifying film is seen by a representative number of voters. Voting for the first round will take place December 12-15, with a list of 15 short films announced on December 21.
