HBO’s highly anticipated prequel to the fantasy series Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, has finally hit the screens. Although he is still in the middle of the first season, House of the Dragon lives up to its hype of yet another war for the Iron Throne, especially considering the controversial finale of the original series. Per Collider, the series premiere drew nearly 20 million viewers to the streaming service, each tuning in to witness the eerie dance of the dragon. The show – adapted from the fictional work of George RR Martin Fire & Blood — is set two centuries before the events of . stepped up Game of Throneswhich tells a story of a civil war for the Iron Throne under the dragon-riding bloodline, House Targaryen.
Of course, when it comes to the issue of inheritance in House of the Dragon, the war for the Iron Throne pits several fierce contenders against each other. The series is also not going to end anytime soon, as the show has been renewed for a second season. As many characters wage war for the infamous throne, we meet some new faces. She is a woman of grace, who has all the quirks to rule the Seven Kingdoms, but she was indeed not born a man, putting her claim to the throne in jeopardy. Milly Alcockportrays the younger version of Rhaenyra in House of the Dragon, is a relatively new face to Hollywood, but has several credits to her portfolio in the Australian television realm. Alcock is widely popular for directing the comedy-drama series Upright; she plays the character of misfit Meg, who forges an unlikely bond with another of her misfit, Lucky (Tim Minchin). Paddy Considine plays the decorated character of Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the Realm, and the First Men, King Viserys Targaryen. He is an English actor, director and screenwriter, known for his work as Richard, a returned soldier seeking revenge in dead man’s shoes. Daemon Targaryen is another dragon rider in House of the Dragon. English actor Matt Smith has no shortage of impressive work in his less than two-decade long acting career. Emily Carey plays the character of Alicent Hightower, a young queen who is nothing but an heir-producing consort of King Viserys in House of the Dragon. Carey started her career as a child actress in DCEUs Wonder Woman (2017) as a young Princess Diana. She was further seen portraying the young version of Lara Croft in Tomb Raider (2018). The actress’s fans may also recognize her as Anastasia’s titular character from Anastasia: Once upon a time. Of course, that’s not the end of her acting resume; she is also popularly known for portraying the character of Mika Cavanaugh in BBC’s teen thriller series get right.
Rhys Ifans
Otto Hightower, per CBRis best described as the Littlefinger of House of the Dragon. Hightower in Westeros is charged with consistent counsel that could potentially determine the fate of the empire on any known trajectory. Rhys IfansOtto has fulfilled his duties as the Hand of the King of the Targaryen line. Steve Toussaint, who plays the powerful character of Corlys, has lent his art to bring various characters to life. He is popularly known as Seso in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
