Parul Aggarwal becomes Drama Head at Warner Bros. Television

Parul Agarwal has been promoted to senior vice president and head of drama development at Warner Bros. Television, TheWrap has confirmed. The announcement of his promotion comes a day after the group’s latest round of layoffs.

Agarwal Leigh will replace London Redmayne, who left in July to become president of Berlanti Productions.

Agarwal, who was a longtime drama executive at Warner Bros., will report to Clancy Collins White, executive vice president and head of development. She will lead the production of the studio’s drama series, limited series and films for Warner Bros. Discovery’s HBO Max, external streaming services, cable and broadcast networks. She will also oversee the drama development team.

Prior to joining Warner Bros. Television, Agarwal worked in development at Brancato/Salke Productions, the former production company of producers Chris Brancato and Burt Salke. He also worked with “The L Word” creator Ilene Chaiken on the show’s final season.

A seasoned executive, Agarwal has risen through the ranks of the studio since joining in 2010. She has worked on several series including HBO’s “Lovecraft County,” HBO Max’s “Gossip Girl” and “Pretty Little Liars” reboots, and the upcoming “The Girls On.” That’s it.” He also worked on “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and “Made” for Netflix, “Riverdale” and “Supergirl” for The CW, and “Castle Rock” for Hulu.

He has collaborated with producers and production companies such as Alloy Entertainment, Bad Robot Productions, Berlanti Productions, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Elizabeth Banks, Ava DuVernay, Mindy Kaling, Bill Lawrence and Nekechi Okoro Carroll under deals in the studio.

Agarwal started his TV career as a screenplay coordinator for AMC’s “Mad Men”.
