MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

Venom 3: The Plot

Despite the teaser given at CinemaCon, the content of the teaser was extremely limited. The only indication of gif 3 was the logo in a closing sizzle reel. While the announcement didn’t reveal much information, the ending and mid-credit scenes of Let there be a bloodbath point out a few possible directions the latest movie can take.

Venom could potentially have a new nemesis, given the deaths of the villains in the second film and the final scenes of the film where the dead Detective Mulligan comes back to life with blue eyes. Eddie and Venom could also explore the multiverse if the mid-credit scenes of Let there be a bloodbath are something to go by. Since the two discussed the existence of a multiverse before being transported to another dimension, the multiverse avenue seems all the more plausible.

Into the scene after the credits Spider-Man: No Way Home has also sparked fan speculation that Venom and Spider-Man, posited as enemies in the comic books, might finally meet. The speculation comes from viewers getting to see a tiny blob of the symbiote left behind as Doctor Strange’s spell to erase Spider-Man from everyone’s memory pulls Eddie back to his respective dimension. The meeting of the two characters was given more weight by Let there be a bloodbath director Andy Serkis during a video interview with IGN in 2021.

According to the director:

That’s the question on everyone’s lips. They want to know when Venom is going to meet Spider-Man in person, but that will never happen. Oh I’m just kidding, of course it will happen…it depends on when you want to get there and also what the appetite is”

For now, only guesses can be made as to the possible storyline of poison 3. At the time of writing, no trailer or first-look clip of the film has been released, leaving us in the dark about a definitive plot for the film. However, we know that a script for gif 3 was written, thanks to an Instagram post from Tom Hardy in June 2022. The content of the script still remains a mystery.

Venom 3: The cast and crew

The last venom movie still doesn’t have a fixed cast list. However, we can be sure that Tom Hardy will reprise his role as Eddie Brock. Hardy’s performance in the previous films has made him an integral part of the venom storyline and played a major role in the success of the first two films. Given this, it becomes quite difficult to imagine a third installment without Hardy taking on his now popular role as Eddie and Venom. Hardy’s Instagram post of the script also states that we’ll be seeing him in the third film.

In addition to Hardy, there are other actors who may return, including Stephen Graham as Detective Patrick Mulligan. Michelle Williams may also appear in the film as Anne Weying or She-Venom. Williams has also expressed her interest in reuniting with Hardy in a third film. To talk with Variety in May 2022, the actress said:

“I am determined to continue with the series. I really hope they bring me back.”

While the first film was directed by Ruben Fleischer and written by Jeff Pinker, Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel, Andy Serkis took over the reins for Let there be a bloodbath, with Marcel and Tom Hardy writing the script. Given the changes between the first and second movies, only calculated guesses can be made about who might send the final episode.

Most fans are predicting that Marcel will write for the third film, with the prediction being based more on Marcel’s name visible on the script Hardy shares on his Instagram. Serkis has also expressed his interest in reprising his role as a director. “I mean, yes, of course. It’s such a beautiful world to play in. And I’m sure there will be, I’m sure there will be,” Serkis said, adding, “Well, hopefully…I don’t want to count our chickens. But yes, of course. It was such a fun world to play in.”
