The multilingual direction of Mani Ratnam Ponniyin Selvan was released just over a week ago. But since then, the film has been unstoppable at the worldwide box office. Starring Chiyaan Vikram as Aditya Karikalan, Karthi as Vanthiyathevan, Trisha as Kundavai and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Queen Nandini and Jayam Ravi as Arulmozhi Varman, the film is one of the most talked about recent releases. At the register, PS-1 rakes in the moolah since its release.

Now, after only 9 days at the checkout, Ponniyin Selvan has managed to go past the Rs. 350 kr. mark at the worldwide box office. Collecting a huge Rs. 308.59 cr. by the end of the first week, the collections of Ponniyin Selvan remained stable in the second week. With another Rs. 15.47 cr. and Rs. 26.72 cr. arriving on Day 8 and Day 9, respectively, the total collections of PS-1 are now pegged at Rs. 350.78 cr. within just 9 days of release.

Going further Ponniyin Selvan, who faces little to no competition at the checkout, is expected to see his business grow further. According to trading forecasts, PS-1’s total collections could easily approach Rs. 400 cr. mark by the end of the second week.
