Earlier today, the ‘fantastic’ Bollywood women were seen celebrating the popular festival of Karwa Chauth, where women fast for their husbands’ longevity. Since former beauty queen Priyanka Chopra comes from a typical Punjabi family, she followed the traditions of her community and fasted for her American husband Nick Jonas. If her social media post is anything to criticize, it seems that the actress celebrated the festival according to Indian customs and traditions.

Priyanka Chopra, who is very active on Instagram, took to the platform to share a story about her Karwa Chauth celebrations with Nick Jonas in the US. The actress posted a photo of her wearing mehendi and the typical Punjabi chooda (set of red bangles) which are expected to be important ‘Suhaagan nishaaniyan’ (signs of a married woman) according to Indian customs. It is not the first time that the actress talks about her Karwa Chauth celebrations. In the past, PC has given glimpses of the festivities with the actress also wearing a red saree which is considered auspicious for the occasion.
Earlier today we saw the likes of Sunita Kapoor to Maheep Kapoor, Neelam Kothari, Bhavana Pandey, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Raveena Tandon celebrate the festival together. For the uninitiated, Karwa Chauth is celebrated for a man’s long life, with the woman fasting before him without a drop of water or food until sunset. In many cases, many husbands follow this ritual to return their partner’s love.
Priyanka Chopra is currently enjoying motherhood after welcoming her first child with Nick Jonas via surrogacy earlier this year. At work, she has the Amazon Prime sci-fi drama Citadel along with some Hollywood movies and Bollywood ventures in the pipeline.
