‘Rachel Ray’ to end original production after 17 seasons

Syndicated daytime talk show “Rachel Ray” will end with a final season after 17 years of cooking lessons, celebrity interviews and life advice.

CBS announced the news on Friday in a Press release,

“In my 20 plus years in television I have seen 17 wonderful seasons working with ‘Rachel’ in daytime television.” However, I have decided that the time has come to move on to the next exciting chapter of my broadcasting career,” said Ray. “My passion evolved from the talk show format production and syndication model to a platform free from the traditional rules of distribution Is.”

The talk show host recently launched Free Food Studios, a new production company with a mission to deliver Ray’s “in the kitchen ingredients.” As informed of By Deadline, the author, philanthropist and chef partnered with longtime collaborator Brian Flanagan and his collaborators on Intentional Content Anthony Amoia and Sean Lee. The platform will also develop new upcoming new talents.

“When Rachael started her show 17 years ago, she was a gamechanger in daytime. They made cooking accessible to the masses, taught viewers simple ways to improve their lives, and captivated the great stories of celebrity guests with their relatable down-to-earth demeanor,” said Steve LoCascio, President of CBS Media Ventures he said. “We are proud to have produced such a successful show with Rachael and her team for so many years. We will miss Rachel every day, but we will always be family.

“Rachel Ray” debuted in national syndication on September 18, 2006, collecting 37 Daytime Emmy nominations and 3 Outstanding Talk Show wins in 17 years.

May would see Ray be inducted into the Broadcast and Cable Hall of Fame for his television achievements.

Ray joins the talk show “Dr. Phil, “Judge Mathis” and “The People’s Court” announced its end after the current season. “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “The Wendy Williams Show,” “Dr. Oz,” “Maury” and “The Real” have also concluded in the past year.
