Rachel Sennott Says Bodies Bodies Bodies Cast ‘Trauma Bonded’ on Set

Although the cast of Bodies Bodies Bodies is as close as ever after the release of the summer slasher, actress Rachel Sennott says shared misery on set was almost crucial to their friendship.

Bodies Bodies Bodies stars Amandla Stenberg, Pete Davidson, Maria Bakalova, Myha’la Herrold, Chase Sui Wonders and Lee Pace; Sennott plays the out-of-touch, self-obsessed podcaster Alice in the Gen-Z murder mystery.

Sennott told W Magazine that the effects used in some of the film’s more intense scenes lead to: “trauma bonding” with her co-starsnamely the rain machines and the abundance of fake blood.

“During the filming of the film, there was a traumatic bond,” the 27-year-old actress joked. “Something about the water… the rain machines and the blood. I’ll never be able to see rain in another movie without imagining how cold the actresses are – I mean they are shiver.”

It takes place during a “hurricane party” and promises bloody thrills for the disgruntled 20-year-old guests, Bodies Bodies Bodies certainly had no shortage of intense scenes to film, but in the end that was positive.

“There were a lot of intense scenes in the movie, so we felt connected very quickly during the filming. And honestly, we needed it. We had to be like that, I love you because we are going into the storm together,” she added.

Sennott Reflects on Bodies Bodies Bodies Process: ‘It has been very special’

Bodies Bodies Bodies has been a long time coming. The project was first taken over by A24 in 2018, but was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic and passed between directors before starting filming in 2021. Now that the film has been released, Sennott says it was a special experience making the dark comedy with her fellow cast members.

“When you’re working on a movie… it’s a weird thing where you put something in a bubble, and then a year goes by, and then everything starts to happen when the project is released,” the Shiva Baby actress reflected.

But the standout actress says it was all worth it to see the finished product, and she loved the opportunity to celebrate the cast, crew and their collective work.

“It was really special to go through this process with the cast because I really love them. It was nice to celebrate each other,” she added.

Directed by Halina Rein, Bodies Bodies Bodies is now on sale on Prime Video.
