Glass Onion: A Mystery of the Blades is the second installment in the Knives out franchise. Fans have been eager to release the crime/comedy movie since the original Knives out did so well in 2019. The story follows a group of elite and successful individuals, who meet to spend the weekend on their billionaire friend’s private island at the eponymous Glass Onion. Little do they know there is a murderer among the group, and the weekend, meant to be filled with light-hearted games, turns into a real murder mystery. Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, Jessica Henwick, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Dave Bautista, and Leslie Odom Jr. make up the film’s incredible cast.

6/10 The Banshees of Inisherin

This Best Picture – Musical or Comedy nominee is one of the most critically acclaimed films of the year. Martin McDonagh, best known for his Academy Award winning film Three billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri and In Burges, directed this film about a man living off the coast of Ireland whose lifelong best friend suddenly ends their relationship. The man, Pádaric, embarks on a journey to restore his friendship, encountering unexpected challenges along the way. The Banshees of Inisherin is definitely one of this year’s top contenders for Best Picture.

Blanchett’s performance is what makes this movie so incredible, and she’s also one of the top contenders for Best Performance by an Actress in a Feature Film – Drama.
