‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ winner Tyra Sanchez has been arrested in Florida for allegedly threatening to shoot police – Deadline

A former “RuPaul’s Drag Race” winner was arrested Saturday for allegedly threatening to shoot Florida cops.

Season 2 winner Tyra Sanchez – also known as King Tyra – has been charged with assaulting a police officer and engaging in nonviolent resistance, according to an arrest report received from TMZ on Saturday.

The incident began with a minor car accident in Starke, a town outside of Jacksonville. When police arrived, Sanchez reportedly began verbally abusing them. That confrontation reportedly escalated into a threat to shoot the officer and then escalated even further when Sanchez reportedly fled the scene. The police eventually caught up with her and took her into custody.

Since Sanchez won the $25,000 RuPaul’s Drag Race award in 2010, he’s had at least one minor run-in with the police.
