TV actor Paras Kalnawat has been in the news for his sudden and controversial departure from Rupali Ganguly’s popular show Anupamaa. He signed Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10, which was apparently seen as a breach of contract, leading to his termination. Paras is now replaced by his friend Sagar Parekh who will now play the role of Samar Shah in Anupamaa.
About feeling the pressure and being nervous, Sagar told TOI: “Anupamaa is a popular show and Samar’s character is important because he is Anupama’s only dutiful son and support system in the show. I feel a lot of pressure and a bit also nervous because Paras who is a friend in real life played it so well Joining an existing show is always a task Also I am new to the whole team But I am excited and looking forward to the ice to break with my fellow players.”
He added: “I shot with Ms. Rupali and she helped me a lot on set. I didn’t get time to watch the show before, but now I’ve been following Samar’s role closely. My family is watching the show “So she keeps telling me about the character and how he has many shades to play. Of course I don’t have to do the same and I’ll bring my own abilities and talent into the part.”
Sagar has been part of shows like Balika Vadhu 2, Tera Yaar Hoon Main, Rajaa Betaa and Internet Wala Love, and will next be seen in the fourth season of the popular web series Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan. He has also done Babbar Ka Tabbar for ZEE5 both seasons.
Meanwhile, Paras has made some shocking statements about the makers of Anupamaa after his departure. He said that he chose Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa because he wanted to discover a better side of him. He thinks there was nothing left for him in Anupamaa because his job hasn’t been there since last year. He said he just stood next to the other characters in the show. So he wanted to get out.
