The host of “The View” went on InfoWars host Alex Jones on the Thursday morning show for his claims about the Sandy Hook massacre, calling him a “monstrous” and “a lowly scoundrel.” Host Sarah Haines even said that, beyond the monetary penalty, Jones deserves to feel “even a fraction of the pain” endured by the parents of those children.
The discussion follows the latest decision in the ongoing lawsuit against Jones, in which he was ordered to pay nearly $1 billion in damages to the families of Sandy Hook victims, for his repeated claims that the fatal shooting was a hoax. . As a result of their years of false claims, the families of those children testified that they faced persecution, which included death threats and desecration of their children’s graves.
And while the hosts of “The View” were certainly pleased with the amount Jones has been ordered to pay—host and former federal prosecutor Sonny Hostin wondered if the amount was “unheard of”— Haines argued. that he deserves worse.
“The damage they have caused these people is beyond the worst pain in life, which is losing your child – they live with that. And they can never fill that hole,” Haines said. “After all to have some accountability, I just wish him – I don’t say this lightly – felt even a fraction of the pain he’s felt for the rest of his life.”
Host Joy Behar said that “he seems monstrous, and his followers seem paranoid and delusional,” and criticized right-wing politicians who, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, have continued to defend InfoWars hosts.
