Sarah Lee, former WWE wrestler and 2015 winner of the reality series “Tough Enough”, has died at the age of 30.
Lee’s death was confirmed on Thursday via facebook by his mother, Terry.
Terry Lee wrote on Thursday: “With a heavy heart we want to inform that all of our Weston has gone to be with Jesus.” “We are all in shock and arrangements have not been completed. We want you to respectfully mourn our family. We all especially need prayers for Corey and her children.”
No cause of death was given, although on Wednesday Lee was posted on instagram That she was recovering her health after “the first time a sinus infection kicked my butt”.
In a statement to TheWrap, WWE expressed grief over Lee’s death and condolences to her family, including her husband, Corey James Weston (wrestler Wesley Blake), and their three children.
“WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of Sarah Lee,” the statement read. Born and raised in Hope Township, Michigan, Lee excelled in powerlifting before eventually appearing on the sixth season of WWE’s ‘Tough Enough.’ Lee won the fan vote for ‘Tough Enough’ Served as an inspiration to many people in the world. WWE extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans.”
Hours after news of Lee’s death broke, fellow WWE wrestler Bull James launched a gofundme To raise money for Weston and Lee’s children. At the time of publication, the campaign had tripled its $20,000 goal, raising approximately $70,000.
“We are all shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Tough Enough winner Sarah Lee. As her loving husband, Corey, picks up the pieces and continues to raise their 3 children, the last thing anyone can do in that situation.” What wants to be concerned is money and payment for funerals and everything else that comes with it,” James wrote. “The wrestling community has always been one to come together in the wake of tragedy and this is no different.
