The Apple TV+ series Pachinko is currently filming season 2 in Canada, leaving viewers eagerly awaiting the air date.


According to The Hamilton Spectatorfilming for season 2 of the historical drama from Apple TV+ Pachinko started in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The location was chosen mainly because of the different architectural styles and scenic surroundings of Hamilton, Ontario. In addition, the city’s historic structures and urban environments promise to provide a stunning backdrop to the series’ era.


Pachinko, which tells the multi-generational epic story of a Korean family living in Japan is based on author Min Jin Lee’s bestseller of the same name. When Pachinko‘s first season debuted on Apple TV+ in March 2022, critics and viewers praised the diverse ensemble’s breathtaking visuals, heartfelt storytelling and outstanding acting. Viewers can expect the continuation of a Korean family’s journey through the complicated and often turbulent political and social environment of 20th-century Japan to continue in the second season. And just like in season one, a group of renowned directors and producers oversees production of the series at Apple Studios. An equally impressive array of talent can be found in the Pachinko season 2 cast, including Oscar-winning actress Youn Yuh-Jung, Hallyu star Lee Min-Ho, and actress and singer Kim Min-Ha. Justin Chon, the latter of whom is best known for his critically acclaimed films Guess And Mrs Purpledirects the television series.

Pachinko wins big prize at Spirit Awards 2023

Pachinko, the TV series adaptation of the best-selling book, recently took a stunning win at this week’s 2023 Spirit Awards. The series, starring Youn Yuh-Jung and directed by Justin Chon and Kogonada, earned Best Ensemble Cast in a New Scripted Series.

Actor Noh-Sang-hHun, who played Baek Isak Pachinko, was personally to receive the award. After his speech thanking the Film Independent Spirit Awards, a video of the cast shooting in Canada was shown, in which they also thanked the committee.

Pachinko, which chronicles the trials and tribulations of a Korean family in 20th-century Japan, was praised for its moving portrayal of immigration, prejudice, culture, and identity. With the majority of the cast and staff being of Asian descent, the series’ success at the Spirit Awards represents a major turning point for Asian representation in Hollywood.
