The third week of “Dancing with the Stars” featured a three-way tie at the top of the leaderboards between Charlie D’Amelio, Wayne Brady and Gabby Windy, as the stars danced to the theme songs of the James Bond film for Bond Night.

While Vini Guadagnino earned the lowest score of the evening, he was saved by the vote of the audience who, while not technically perfect, loved the rumba with “thunderball”. Cohost Alfonso Ribeiro responded to Vinny’s “blocky” criticism of Len Goodman by giving his review as Britain: “It was bullshit, but he knocked my socks off,” a play Vinny in his best British accent. Derek Huff and the pro dancers gave us a fiery “Live and Let Die” number to open the show, followed by Charlie D’Amelio and Mark Ballas’ sultry rumba for “No Time to Die.” He was made to play the villain with a scorched face and a white contact lens, who tries to poison him, but not before he gives her the deadly drink. Bruno said she was a true femme fatale and gave her the first 9 of the season, while Carrie Ann Inaba said, “You take my breath away.”
Despite his bad knees, Wayne Brady was a “smooth operator”, as Bruno dubbed him, in a Bond routine that saw him beating baddies with briefcases in his entrance. Bruno declared it “the best tango of the night” and Derek praised his “amazing poise”.
Gabby Windy said she planned to channel Bond girl Halle Berry into her Cha Cha… and also told partner Val Chmerkovskiy that being a woman means “my super power is my uterus.” Lane told her that her dance was “really cute”, “see you next week.”
After his shirtless dance last week, Bruno said that tuxedoed Trevor Donovan was “overdressed” this week, to which Donovan replied, “Bruno, behavior.” Derek said he thought the “90210” alum might be this season’s “dark horse,” but he ended up at the bottom of the leaderboard.
“CODA” star Daniel Durant and fellow Brit Stewart gave a rumba set to “The World Is Not Enough,” one of the sexiest dances of the evening. Carrie Ann said it was a “sexy and great performance” and that her technique was “mind-blowing.” Derek said that Daniel was “an absolute leading man”, while Bruno said, “It was like watching Daniel Craig.” The actor later told Alfonso that he would love to act in a Bond film.
Tyra suggested that Shangela may also end up as “the first drag queen Bond girl” in the franchise since “GoldenEye” Rumba. Lane said it was “a tad on the sexy side”, but Carrie Ann declared, “Hey, girl, she was fierce, she’s the living definition of fierce.”
Lane told Jordyn Sparks that her tango was her “best dance” ever, but she needed to work on her turn. The singer, who thought she wouldn’t be sexy enough to dance, “was smitten,” Bruno said.
Country singer Jessie James Decker was painted gold for her “Goldfinger” rumba, but she finished fourth.
