Seth Meyers Roasts Matt Getz to Join Twitch

Seth Meyers’ monologue may be quite a one-liner, but he certainly was a sharp one for Matt Getz on Tuesday night. To kick off “Late Night,” Meyers roped in Congressman for joining Twitch in an effort to reach a younger audience — something, Meyers joked, something Getz hasn’t gotten into much trouble with in the past.

As always, Meyers had other goals between his monologue on the show and his beloved “Yes Burn” segment. Those goals included the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and Elon Musk. But Meyers saved a particularly brutal dig for Matt Getz.

Last week, Getzo announced He was joining the streaming platform to “bring my America first message to a new generation of viewers”. And at that, Meyers had a good laugh.

“Previously, Venmo was the only way to reach a new generation of voters!” Meyers chuckled.

The Late Night host was, of course, referring to Getz’s ongoing investigation into sex trafficking and paying minors to have sex with him. In August, ABC News informed of That Gaetz’s “one-time wingman” Joel Greenberg gave investigators “years of Venmo and Cash App transactions” as evidence of Gaetz’s actions.

As is typical with Meyers’ monologue style, he ended the joke and went on as well. What he didn’t mention, though, was how Getz’s first Twitch stream actually went — which is to say, bad.

The inaugural stream of congressmen on stage – which was a live recording of his podcast and touted right-wing conspiracy theories around January 6 – ironically reached only six viewers at its peak. After the live part of the stream is over, commenters chat room flooded Of the post, Getz calls several things, including “pedo” and “dumbass imbecile”.
