Karan Malhotra director Shamshera was released on Friday to a lukewarm response from the public. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor, the Yash Raj Films venture got off to a less than expected start, raking in just Rs. 10.25 cr. on its opening day. It followed with Rs. 10.50 cr. on day 2.
Now on its third day, reports suggest the film has seen no growth in occupancy during morning and early afternoon shows. The early morning and early afternoon shows showed a quiescent response, with minimal growth during day 2.
Judging by current stocking trends, Shamshera’s Day 2 collections are likely to stay in the range of Rs. 10 kr to 11 kr. In that case, the film will close the opening weekend with approximately € 30-31 kr.
