Shazam! Anger of the Gods is finally complete. Director David F. Sandberg shared the memorable news on his Twitter account featuring a shot of Zachary Levi’s titular hero and the words, “Ready! Now off.”
Like many DCU movies of late, the 2019 sequel was a hit Shazam! has shifted back and forth in the Warner Bros. release schedule. Discovery, from an original release in 2023 to December 2022 and finally settled on March 17, 2023. However, Sandberg has previously said the film was mostly completed and could have met its December 2022 release date. That would have seen it head-to-head. head would go with Avatar: The way of the waterwhich would be a foolish move for even the most confident of releases, so it will instead be released with no direct competition.
Of course there was a moment when it seemed like there would be a part for Black Adam in the… Shazam! sequel, that was until Dwayne Johnson got him his own solo movie as the antihero and that pushed a meeting between the two characters further down. Along with Superman’s recently revealed return, it seems that as unlikely as it seemed a few months ago, Shazam will likely be a big part of the DCU going forward.
When will Shazam and Black Adam meet?
There was originally a plan for Shazam and Black Adam to share the spotlight in one film, introducing the pair together. However, it’s hard for anyone to say no to Dwayne Johnson, and when The Rock advocated for his own film, it quickly became so. With Black Adam introduced and his film ending with the plague of a future conflict with Henry Cavill’s Superman, fans are wondering when Shazam will fight Johnson’s alleged DCU savior.
While there’s currently no timeline of when Black Adam will take on some of the DCU’s greatest heroes, it’s clear that Warner Bros.’ newly formed DC Studios. Discovery will approach the coming years of DC movies with a view to creating a continuous story that has eluded the franchise until now. Of Shazam! Fury of the Gods will be the next DC movie will be released, maybe it will give you an idea of what exactly may come after the releases of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and The flash.

New cast members also include Rachel Zegler, Helen Mirren, and Lucy Liu as the film’s three main antagonists. The film will be released worldwide on March 17, 2023.
