She-Hulk Mid-Season Sneak Peek Reveals New Images of Charlie Cox As Daredevil

Marvel released a mid-season sneak peek for She-Hulk: Lawyer, featuring a new take on Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Like Jennifer Walters’ She-Hulk, played by Tatiana Maslany, Murdock is also a lawyer who stars as a superhero and will make his second MCU appearance in the second half of She-Hulk: Lawyer.

She-Hulk Episode 4 seemed to arrange his arrival, thanks to Titania’s (Jameela Jamil) latest cunning scheme to trademark the pseudonym “She-Hulk” and sue Walters for copyright infringement. Jameel really wasn’t kidding when she said Titania would be the most “nasty” MCU villain. So far we haven’t seen her much in She-Hulk, but that’s going to change. You can watch the new trailer below.

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

The clip opens with Titania promoting She-Hulk, her new cosmetics line, while Jennifer Walters seeks legal advice. Fans expected Matt Murdock to show up to help Walters resolve her legal issues, but it looks like he’ll be playing a mentor-like role instead. It’s unclear when Daredevil will make its debut, but director Kat Coiro told… TV line that he will appear “later in the season”.

“I think you’re in a unique position to really do something good,” Murdock says in a short pep talk. “Jen Walters can use the law to help people when society fails; She-Hulk can help people when the law fails.” There’s also a playful fourth wall break as Walters gets excited to see Daredevil in action: “This guy actually kinda does it for me.”

And we’ll also get to see more of Wong (Benedict Wong) and his new BFF, Madisynn King (Patty Guggenheim).

She-Hulk has been a breath of fresh air for the MCU, but not everyone is on board

If you look beyond the short episodes and the subpar visual effects, She-Hulk: Lawyer is actually quite fun. It’s not as dark or overly campy as some of Marvel’s recent outings, but a mix of both, with some intriguing plot arcs. Though it can be a little crazy at times. And the Ally McBeal-inspired legal comedy setting of She-Hulk is a first for the MCU.

However, some fans are really confused about She-Hulk. The character has always been light-hearted, unlike her furious cousin Bruce Banner/Hulk, but that’s partly why She-Hulk’s disappointing reception from the public: Hulk’s continued “beating”. However, the show appears to have a bigger role for Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk in the MCU, and a solo movie is rumored to be in the works as well.

She-Hulk has also been bombarded by trolls, mainly because of Walters’ “cat calling” monologue, which some people found offensive and in bad taste. The infamous term “woke” has also been thrown around, and last week’s episode where Walters twerked with Megan Thee Stallion just added fuel to the fire. But She-Hulk gets better with each episode and we’re only half way through now. It remains to be seen what other surprises the show has in store for its fans.

She-Hulk: Lawyer airs weekly on Disney+, with episode 5 premiering on Thursday, September 15.
