Shibasish Sarkar was unanimously elected to the Producers Guild of India (“Guild”) at the first meeting of the newly established Guild Council of Management, which was held immediately after the 68th Annual General Meeting on September 21, 2022.

President Siddharth Roy Kapur welcomed the President-elect and said: “It has been a pleasure and an honor to serve the production fraternity and I am delighted to hand over the baton to the capable hands of Shibasish. I am sure he will do a fantastic job.” will deliver and further enhance the guild’s reputation as a spearhead in the interests of the industry.”
President-elect Shibasish Sarkar said: “In his six years as Guild President, Siddharth has been a tireless, passionate and committed champion for our industry at a time of unprecedented challenges. I look forward to building on what he has achieved and working with my colleagues to meet the challenges and build on the opportunities ahead of us as an industry”.
The Guild’s 2022-2023 leadership team includes President Shibasish Sarkar, Vice Presidents Manish Goswami, Apoorva Mehta, Sunjoy Waddhwa, Madhu Bhojwani and Ambika Khurana, and Treasurers Ashim Samanta and Fazila Allana.
Shibasish Sarkar is a media and entertainment industry professional with over 29 years of corporate experience handling multiple verticals in movies, television, animation, game content, and digital and new media platform operations. Currently, Shibasish is the Chairman and CEO of International Media Acquisition Corp. His last stint was as Group CEO at Reliance Entertainment, part of the Reliance ADA group. Shibash was a member of the senior leadership team and served as a director and member of the board of directors within several group companies. Prior to Reliance, Shibash held senior roles at Viacom 18, UTV Disney & Godrej Sara Lee with a focus on building a new business, scaling operations and driving sustainable growth through key alliances, stakeholder management, talent partners and multifunctional teams . His academic qualifications include being a certified chartered accountant, expense accountant, corporate secretary and MBA with specialization in marketing.
