Introduction:
The story revolves around Anbu (Siva Karthikeyan) who is a school teacher and lives with his father Ulaganathan (Sathyaraj). Jessica from Cambridge attends the same school as Anbu and falls in love with her. But Ulaganathan hates British because his ancestors were enslaved by them. Likewise, Jessica’s father hates Anbu for being an Indian. How Anbu wins Jessica’s heart and also his father makes up the rest of the story?
What’s hot?
Shivakarthikeyan makes a solid debut in Telugu leading from the front. Maria Ryaboshapka makes an impressive debut and fits her role perfectly. In terms of acting, she is quite good and will go a long way in her career. The production values of the film are very good as the village and surrounding areas are quite well created. Dialogues need a special mention because they bring a great laugh everywhere. The camera work is also decent. The editing is striking and the film has a spicy music score.
The director, like his previous film, although there isn’t much in his story, the way he has packed the film with good entertainment makes everything work. The way he narrates the main elements in the plot shows his talent. Like Anudeep’s last film Jathiratnalu, one of the prince’s greatest assets is the abundant entertainment provided at regular intervals. Even though the plot is thin, the way the director has written the comedy episodes completely elevates the film.
The movie has a lot of fun that entertains the audience. Comedians carry the entire film on their shoulders. All the characters in the film do a hilarious job and keep the momentum going in the first half. The one-liners written and the way the plot is told help the film.
What not?
The plot is predictable and there isn’t much in the storyline. Problems of villagers and how the hero falls in love with a girl from another country and wins her love. Types of episodes have been featured in many movies in the past.
verdict:
Prince is a light-hearted entertainer whose strongest point is comedy. While the plot is predictable, the film is packed with entertainment at regular intervals. Finally, this is a kind of movie where you have to leave the logic behind and enjoy the fun that is shown.
