SNL Cold Open Begins With Kenan Thompson’s Herschel Walker

“Saturday Night Live” kicks off its latest episode by highlighting the three major Republican candidates currently in the midterm race: Herschel Walker, Kari Lake and Mehmet Oz.

Located as an episode of PBS News Hour hosted by Heidi Gardner’s Judy Woodruff—who described the show as “What are you talking about Grandma when she says, ‘I saw it on the news'”. Introduced – Throwing an ace Kenan Thompson as Georgia Senate candidate Herschelle Walker, initiated by the “SNL” Cold Open.

“My name is Herschel Walker Texas Ranger and I’m running for president of United Airlines,” he began, mocking Walker’s many gaffes on the campaign trail.

“The whole world is a mystery, isn’t it?,” Thompson’s Walker continued. “For example, a thermos, it keeps hot things hot but cold things cool too. My question is how does it decide? So we’re going to be paying a lot of attention to that.”

The Cold Open also turned Walker into a number of upsetting abortion scandals, as the former NFL player has been the subject of several women who claim that Walker pressured or paid for her abortions despite public opposition to abortion.

Thompson’s Walker said, “As the great Trump Donald said, I could pay for an abortion in the middle of Fifth Avenue and not lose any voters.”

Cecily Strong’s Kari Lake appeared in soft focus, explaining her appeal to voters in the Arizona gubernatorial race: “Frankly, I just clicked with many wonderful, frightened elderly people in Arizona, West Florida.”

Strong Lake also took aim at the former TV anchor’s frequent mention of crime in places other than Arizona.

“Arizonians want to talk about issues that affect them, like crime in New York or crime in Detroit,” she said, before adding, “Nothing I say can be incendiary because I think it I say in TV voice.”

Thompson’s Walker closed the sketch with “Yippie’s Yay and Go Halloween”.
